Sound familiar?
You respond well to gentle tending and a less is more approach.
You prefer a collaborative healing experience and trust your intuition to guide our process.
You’ve seen other physicians and not received the care you need. Perhaps it felt like your problems didn’t fit their mold.
What you’re experiencing feels bigger than a physical symptom and you’re curious to dig deeper.
You believe that mind, body and spirit are all part of your health journey.
If these words resonate, I’d love to connect!
“Isabel listens deeply, not only to physical concerns, but equally to emotional and energetic issues. She gathers information about all aspects of life so that she can create a comprehensive plan that addresses the root issues.”
Trauma-informed whole persxn care
The space I cultivate, whether we meet in person or online, is cozy and inviting. I offer you a gentle, affirming, safe container for whatever needs to unfold. In our first appointment, we’ll do a lot of talking. I want to get to know you, hear your stories and learn about your patterns. I’ll ask you questions like:
What was going on in your life when a particular condition began?
What was your childhood like? The food culture in your family?
When you can’t sleep at night, what do you think about?
Are you close with your family?
What are your first memories?
(That thing you’ve never told a provider, for fear it may be irrelevant to your health? I want to hear that, too.)
How we’ll work together
To start, we’ll meet once a week for 4-6 weeks in order establish a rhythm, attune to each other and help you ground into your body. This period helps us discern what frequency of appointments will benefit your healing most moving forward.
As partner in your care, I am here to support you in the many hiccups, joys and seasons of life. There’s very little I don’t treat, and this is why many patients weave me into their regular routines for ongoing support.
Please note: I do not practice as a primary care doctor and encourage you to form a relationship with someone you trust for your routine checkups. Our work together will likely take place more frequently. Happy to provide referrals locally.
My practice
I work with humxns of all kinds. My focuses include fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, gut health and pediatric and adolescent care. I support all varieties of families, including queer and non-binary folx.Babies, kids and teens are welcome here and it’s an honor to get to walk through the phases of life with my patients.
As a naturopath, I embrace East Asian medicine for its truly holistic lens. Gentle (Japanese) acupuncture, trauma informed counseling, homeopathy, herbal medicine and embodied intuitive eating are are all modalities I draw on in my practice. Every appointment is different, as I focus on gently tending to what’s present in any given moment.
I believe in your body’s innate resilience and ability to heal. I am not interested in the suppression of your symptoms, rather in understanding and healing them from their root(s). I go through a lot of tissues in my office—sometimes because a patient is experiencing pain, but usually because patients finally feel safe to release.
All of you is welcome here.
“What initially started as a mission to heal my gut (we did!), has turned into a relationship that has become crucial to my overall wellness routine. She is caring, compassionate, and has helped me find physical and emotional balance and wellbeing. I have never trusted a provider like I do Isabel.”
Things to know ~ in person visits
Your first appointment is 90 minutes and the first half is typically spent getting to know each other. In the second half, you climb on my acupuncture table to integrate and to rest. Follow up appointments are 60 minutes.
Things to know ~ virtual visits
Because my license is in Oregon, virtual visits out of state are technically health consults. This means that—legally—I am not your doctor and I do not diagnose conditions in these sessions.
“Dr. Isabel’s treatments are an extension of her compassionate care and ability to listen deeply and hold sacred space. With gentle acupuncture, moxibustion, homeopathy and nutritional guidance, she helped me navigate chronic autoimmunity and improve my quality of life tremendously.”
Insurance
I currently accept Pacific Source, BSBS and Providence for Local 1:1 care. Some HSA/FSA plans will cover supplements—please call your insurer for details. Please note insurance cannot be used for out-of-state virtual visits, Family Support Sessions, workshops, courses or online offerings.
