“Dr. Sweitzer heals from the heart. Being in her care feels like being brought into a warm embrace that will gently and effectively guide you towards greater health.”
Hi, I’m Dr. Isabel (she/her/hers)
As a baby, I had colic and chronic ear infections and the antibiotics doctors kept prescribing didn’t work. In their desperation, my parents took me to a naturopath. This physician suggested some major food shifts and my symptoms dissolved. Holistic medicine continued to weave through my life as I became a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist. I’ve always been drawn to birth and babies (I was that kid who took nurturing her dolls very seriously) and am a certified doula who almost became a midwife. As a new mother, I am acutely aware of the kinds of support that are so deeply needed and nearly impossible to ask for as a new parent. My practice is not static—there is room for you to grow, change and heal here.
All identities are welcome, honored and supported here.
Mine is an inclusive & queer friendly practice, that invites all gender identities and expressions.
As a white provider, I recognize the need for racial and social justice, in our country and in our world, and am committed to my ongoing learning & unlearning of what this means for both me & you .
I offer several sliding scale sessions per month for those who identify as BIPOC. Please contact me to learn more.
A portion of my proceeds go to BIPOC owned businesses as well as continuing education in racial and social justice.
My practice
I work with humans of all kinds. My focuses include fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, gut health and pediatric and adolescent care. I support all varieties of families, including queer and non-binary folx. Babies, kids and teens are welcome here and it’s an honor to get to walk through the phases of life with my patients.
As a naturopath, I embrace East Asian medicine for its truly holistic lens. Gentle (Japanese) acupuncture, trauma informed counseling, homeopathy, herbal medicine and embodied intuitive eating are are all modalities I draw on in my practice. Every appointment is different, as I focus on gently tending to what’s present in any given moment.
I believe in your body’s innate resilience and ability to heal. My focus in not in the suppression of your symptoms, rather in understanding and treating them from their root(s). I go through a lot of tissues in my office—sometimes because a patient is experiencing pain, but usually because patients finally feel safe to release.
